The technological platform program
The objective of this program is to develop projects aimed at using the REPAR website as a platform for knowledge transfer. In the context of evidence-based practice, our specific objectives are to keep researchers, clinicians and students posted on the newest information by giving them access to up-to-date knowledge transfer tools. The Rehab_watch Newsletter is an example as well as the specialized websites such as StrokEngine and Burn Engine.

The platform includes suggestions of clinical evaluation tools, clinical practice or client management guidelines as well as educational modules. This section will also establish links to relevant websites for evidence-based practice.

For the first time, researchers at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities showed that non-invasive brain stimulation can change a specific brain mechanism that is directly related to human behavior. This is a major step forward for discovering new therapies to treat brain disorders such as schizophrenia, depression, Alzheimer’s disease, and Parkinson’s disease. The study was recently published in Nature Communications, a peer-reviewed, open access, scientific journal.

The study, published recently in The Lancet Regional Health – Europe, also found 90% of cases of depression occurred within five years of surviving a stroke, indicating a key time for healthcare intervention.
